Maybe it's a selfish thing, but it kinda bothers me that SCS tries to keep just about everyone happy, though with DX11 only, Fmod, SSAO and now the new lighting Idk if the release date is stopping people from buying it, on the other hand the base game is fairly inexpensive, and on sale quite often.Īt the same time they can up the minimum and recommended system specs to a higher system to stop people with potato pcs complaining.Ĭomplaining people are never good for sales, though the majority of potato pc complainers should really look at themselves and not SCS. Players that have bought the base game before that will get it for free through updates, but new buyers will have a new fresher game.
I suppose SCS has some options to kinda repack the base game (but they have to redo that first) so it can be sold as a new game to new players, so instead of it saying 2012 on sales pages it will say 2021 or whenever for example.
Anything you want to be in ETS 2 can be done in updates and even it means re-making the whole game it would still be easier and faster than making a new game from scratch and to add you don't have look for your credit card so the idea of ETS 3 is not supposed to be special for us fans, it's just an illusion that software development companies use to trick us into paying for an update.ĭoubt it's going to happen, also don't see any need for it from a personal point of view, the game is developing great as it is. New games are just a joke, do you know something? A new game is just an update for the previous game except the company behind it gets to charge you for it. My point is if SCS released ETS 3 a year from today it would be exactly what ETS 2 would be if SCS concentrated on updating it for a year. I agree that leaving the cab and interacting with the rest of the world would be swell but it doesn't necessarily mean that we need another game, that could simply be an update.ĮTS 3 would literally be just like ETS 2 but different, since SCS isn't concentrating on an ETS 3 we can good updates with a small window in between. ETS 3 isn't a bad idea but wasting all the potential in ETS 2 is not worth it.
